Teaching the Hudson Valley Case Study
small_thv_300TeachingTheHudsonValley.org, an online resource and community for teachers across New York state, offers more than 120 lesson plans on subjects like history, science, math and art for grades pre-K-12. Lesson plans are easy to search, sort, download and use in the classroom. This Joomla-based site also allows teachers to author and submit new lessons to the THV community. What does that mean? As the community grows, so will its stable of lesson plans. Borrow a lesson, add a lesson - everybody wins.

Why Soapbxx?
Knowing that a website with both high functionality and ease of accessibility would be critical to its success, THV tapped Soapbxx to be its community strategist and website developer. That meant:

  • designing and creating the framework for the THV community;
  • understanding the concept of sharing lesson plans online;
  • defining the most efficient way for teachers to store, download, share and discuss the lesson plans with other teachers;
  • and making the site user-friendly to teachers on computers that might be on dial-up.
